StealthPods™ Installation Guide
Step-by-step mounting, alignment, and cable management for StealthPods with Escort Redline Ci 360c, CiC, and ZR6. Hybrid guidance for advanced DIY and professional installers.
System Overview
- Supported Escort kits: Redline Ci 360c (5 shifters, upgradable to 6), Redline CiC (front platform, customizable add-ons), and ZR6 (3 shifters included; expandable).
- Front setup: Minimum of 3 shifters. The Transmitter must be centered within the array and surrounded by Transceivers. If using more than 3, keep transmitters centered.
- Rear setup: Typically 2 shifters (1 Transmitter + 1 Transceiver) for the 360c; system may be expanded per vehicle width.
- Pod choice: Use Fixed, Adjustable, or a mix based on bumper geometry and available mounting area.
- Best practice: Consult your installer or contact us for layout recommendations by vehicle.
What This Guide Covers
This page walks through mounting, alignment, and cable management for StealthPods™. It’s written for advanced DIY users and professional installers.
Mounting Methods
- 3M Automotive Double-Sided Tape: Thoroughly clean the surface with rubbing alcohol (remove dust/wax). Apply at 70°F+ when possible for optimal adhesion. Apply uniform pressure.
- Self-Tapping Screws: Use appropriate length; pilot if needed. Do not overtighten. Combine with tape for large/contoured surfaces or high-vibration environments.
- Combination: Tape + screws provides redundancy and improved peel resistance.
Surface Prep
- Ensure the bumper area is clean, dry, and free of waxes or dressings.
- Test-fit pods to confirm clearance, sightline, and symmetry.
- Mark locations lightly with painter’s tape before final mount.
Alignment & Leveling
- Mount the pod(s) in the chosen location(s), ensuring the face can point straight ahead and sit level to the ground.
- Insert the shifter into the pod. For severe bumper angles, use shims as needed—pods provide fine up/down and left/right adjustment but are not meant for extreme corrections.
- Use the StealthPods™ Level Arm (provided by us) together with the small bubble level supplied in the Escort hardware kit (Redline Ci 360c, Redline CiC, or ZR6).
- Adjust until the assembly is within ±0.5° horizontally and vertically.
- Lock the adjustable spherical core by tightening the bottom jam screw (M12, ASA).
- Snap the IR-pass acrylic lens into the front detent rails (top/bottom) and verify retention.
⚠️ Important: Only snug the M10 jam screw. Light hand pressure is sufficient. Overtightening can strip threads in the ASA housing and permanently damage the pod.
Pro Tip
Level and aim after the vehicle is on level ground and at normal ride height. Re-check alignment after the first heat cycles and a short road test.
Cable Management
- Avoid sharp bends and contact with metal edges; use grommets or edge guards if needed.
- Create a small service loop (slack) at each pod to reduce strain on mounts and connectors.
- Secure cables with automotive-grade ties/clips and confirm no pinch points when panels are reinstalled.
Final Checks
- Verify pods are secure, level, and aimed straight ahead.
- Confirm transmitter(s) are centered within multi-pod arrays.
- Power-on test per Escort’s manual before closing panels.
